#6 Newton School Shooting
I think that a lot about the the shooting was misunderstood. They man who killed the 28 people was mentally ill and had down syndrome. Though it doesn't give him an excuse to kill innocent children and teachers, it must be take into consideration. With violence in our society, the person who commits the act of murder will get highly publicized and that killer will get more publicity than the victims In some cases it doesn't happen but most times it does. I think that this happens because of how normalized violence has become in our society due to video games, t.v. shows and movies.

You made a really good point that his mental illness must be taken into consideration because at the time, the people looking into this event didn't. It was written well.
ReplyDeletethis sooting shocked me. it was unnerving to know that children as young as five can be shot in a school, and still the gun laws remain. it also shocks me that this man, who was mentally ill, was not properly cared for or looked after.
